In the past, Christmas didn’t end on Christmas Day. The period between Christmas and New Year was part of the holiday season itself – a time for rest, visiting, and socializing – and Christmas could be celebrated all the way until Epiphany or St. Knut’s Day.
At Nääs, we like to hold on to a slightly slower Christmas. You are welcome to visit for a winter outing with a Christmas tour of the castle, something warm in the Café, a visit to the Gift shop, and a walk through the historic setting.
Christmas tour of the castle
Step into the Christmas-decorated Nääs Slott and hear stories about the people who lived here and about Christmas customs and traditions of the past. Which do we recognize – and what has changed? In the preserved rooms, history feels close at hand.
Boxing Day period in the Café – with Christmas waffles and Christmas coziness
After a walk or a Christmas tour, it’s nice to settle down in the warmth of the Café. During the Boxing Day period, we serve a slightly more Christmassy version of our popular buffet with today’s soup, homemade bread, cheese, sausage, and thin pancakes with jam and cream.
And there will be Christmas waffles! Bake your own crispy waffles and enjoy them freshly made, with a little taste of Christmas.
Eat as much as you like for SEK 159 per person.

The Boxing Day period in the Café
The Café is a popular spot during the Boxing Day period. Settle in for a while in the warmth with family and friends after a walk or a Christmas tour of the castle. Here we serve, among other things, rice pudding, Christmas sandwiches and Christmas coffee.
Nääs Gift shop
Step into the Gift shop and browse among crafts, antiques, nostalgic novelties and beautiful items for the home.
Also take the opportunity to experience Nääs in its winter attire. Take a walk through the castle park, along the lake and between the historic buildings – in winter, the environment is tranquil and beautiful in a very special way.
Open December 25–30, 11 AM–4 PM.
Nääs today is a national heritage building and a nature reserve, but also a large estate with a fantastic history.
