Each year, researchers and thesis writers from various higher education institutions get in touch with different questions about the history of Nääs. Below are some of them.
Hans Thorbjörnsson has written a number of articles about the Nääs sloyd teacher training seminar. In 1990, he published the book “Nääs and Otto Salomon: sloyd and play”.

Gisli Thorsteinsson, Professor in Handicraft and Innovation at the University of Iceland, Reykjavík, and Brynjar Olafsson, University Campus Notodden, South-Eastern Norway. They have taken an interest in the first Icelandic students at Nääs and have written articles on the subject during the 2000s.
Etsuo Yokoyama, professor at Nagoya University, Japan. Has written several texts about the Nääs sloyd teacher training seminar over a number of years.
Verónica Andrea Toranzo, National University of Córdoba, Argentina, has taken a closer look at Argentina’s connection to Nääs.
Vassilios Sabatakaksis, Associate Professor, Modern Greek, Centre for Languages and Literature, Lund University. In 2021, he published a translation together with Karin Bauman of Dimitrios Vikelas’ travel account from Greece to Nääs in 1903.

Anders Ottosson, Department of History, University of Gothenburg, is interested in play and sport at the Nääs sloyd teacher training seminar.
Erica Nielsen Okamura, dance historian, Arizona State University. Lives in Australia. Has researched and written articles about Nääs. In 2025, she began writing a doctoral thesis to investigate how Swedish knowledge about play was shared between geographical areas in the years 1904–14, using the Play Courses as a point of departure.
