Do you dream of a simple and atmospheric wedding in a unique castle setting? At Nääs Castle, drop-in weddings are arranged on selected dates throughout the year – an exclusive opportunity to have a civil ceremony in the castle’s beautiful halls.

Here you can experience a romantic ceremony in a historic setting, surrounded by nature, parkland, and lake scenery.

Practical information

How does it work?

  • Bookable times will be released at 10:00 AM on February 14, Valentine’s Day.
  • Wedding times via the text “Book time” below.
  • Maximum eight people per party (including the bridal couple, adult guests and children, and your own witnesses).
  • Allow approximately 20 minutes total in the castle.
  • Arrive well in advance of your ceremony time for registration at Nääs Slottsbod next to the castle.
  • Price for access to the castle’s beautiful hall: SEK 2,600 per wedding party.
  • Two witnesses are required and must be able to identify themselves before the ceremony. We can provide witnesses at SEK 400 per witness.
  • The municipality’s administration fee for the civil ceremony will be invoiced separately (likely SEK 800-850).
  • Payment is made upon arrival and registration (by card or Swish).
  • No-shows will be invoiced.
  • Drop-in throughout the day subject to available times.

Nääs Bridal Waltz

As entrance music for the wedding ceremony, we play the beautiful Nääs Bridal Waltz (which you can listen to here), specially composed for Nääs by composer Tormod Tvete Vik in Tollered.

Check in

Nääs Slottsbod

When you arrive at Nääs on the day of the drop-in weddings, you will register at the reception in Nääs Gift shop, where you will receive your program and pay for access to the great hall and any booked witnesses. The Gift shop opens shortly before 11:00 AM and will remain open until all bridal couples have arrived and been received at the castle.

Wedding photographer

Around Nääs Castle, there are magnificent photo locations for wedding photography. This year’s wedding photographer is Linnéa Broberg, who offers photography packages with 30 minutes of photography.

Please note that the number of available photo sessions is limited and must be pre-booked directly with the photographer, and booked well in advance of your ceremony time.

Bridal bouquet

Flowers are a beautiful accessory for the wedding, and Oscarshöjd blommor & trädgård, Gottfrids Väg 1 in Floda, offers a 10% discount on pre-ordered bridal bouquets for the day.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Drop-in weddings

  • Propose and get a ‘yes’.

  • Apply in good time for a certificate of no impediment from the Tax Agency where either party is registered.

  • Bring valid documents (marriage certificate and certificate of no impediment) from the Tax Agency, as well as your ID documents.

  • Bring two witnesses or book witnesses with us. We can provide witnesses at SEK 400/witness if you wish.

  • Witnesses must be able to identify themselves.

  • Arrive approximately 30 minutes before your ceremony time for registration and payment at Nääs Slottsbod in the brick building next to the castle, Nääs Allé 12, Floda.

The Café, with its traditional peasant interior in the old grain storehouse next to the castle, is open 11 AM–4 PM with soup lunch and delicious baked goods inspired by what was served in the late 1800s.

It may be possible to pre-order a wedding cake for your wedding party here – more information will follow.

Beautiful rooms for overnight stays in unique buildings are available for booking here at Nääs. How about the bridal suite in the South Wing?
