Accessibility at Nääs

Outdoors

Large parking areas by the castle and the seminar area. Accessible parking is available by the restaurant (fee applies). Distance: 40 m to Kaffestugan, 90 m to the castle. Payment by annual pass, coins or the EasyPark app.

Most paths and open areas are gravelled but are easy to get around without assistance.

Some entrances have small thresholds.

Indoors

  • Many steep staircases outdoors and indoors.
  • The kitchen entrance can be reached without stairs.
  • Dimly lit, especially dark during winter.

  • Ramp at the main entrance of the old stable.
  • Accessible toilet on the entrance floor.
  • Function room on the upper floor is accessed via staff.
  • The ramp at Slottsboden is opened on request.
  • No ramp at the main entrance.
  • Ramp to Långasalen on the side – must be arranged in advance.
  • No stairlift or ramp to the upper floor.

Steep stairs. No ramps.

  • The main entrance is high and steep.
  • Permanent ramp on the short side.
  • Toilet in the basement, accessed from outside.
  • No lift/stairlift.
  • Entrance floor with shop and café.
  • Upper floor with exhibition space is accessed via an external stairlift.

All buildings have thresholds.

  • WC is available at Kaffestugan, Slottsbod/reception, Vänhem, Mellannääs/Källnääs.
  • The toilet by the parking area is narrow but open 24/7.
  • No toilet in the castle.
  • Guided tours are in Swedish.
  • All guides can speak English.
