Selma Lagerlöf was a frequent guest at Nääs for several decades around the turn of the 20th century, when she visited Sophie Elkan – August Abrahamson’s niece and close friend.
During her stays at Nääs, Selma found both inspiration and a peaceful place to work. Many of her most renowned works took shape here, in the shade of the great trees in the castle park. In The Wonderful Adventures of Nils, an entire chapter is devoted to Nääs.
Join us for a tour where literature and the history of the place meet. The guide Hanna Konnebäck – a literary scholar with experience from Mårbacka – brings to life the story of Selma, her relationship with Nääs, and the traces she left behind.
