The entire area at N\u00e4\u00e4s is part of Natura 2000, which encompasses valuable natural areas within the EU, and its purpose is to stop the extinction of wild animals and plants and to prevent the destruction of their habitats. At N\u00e4\u00e4s, for example, you can find the rare Osmoderma eremita beetles. <\/p>

Between Floda and N\u00e4\u00e4s lies the nature reserve N\u00e4\u00e4s Ekhagar<\/em> with large areas of untouched nature and ancient oak pastures. <\/p>

In the castle park, there are exciting attractions such as the Eagle’s Nest, the Hermit’s Grotto, and the Royal Stone with royal autographs, and the Cannon Point. Here you will find the Victoria Oak, which Crown Princess Victoria has planted, and lovely large open spaces. <\/p>

Also unique is the grave where August Abrahamson and Otto Salomon are buried – Sweden’s smallest burial ground.<\/p>

Feel the wings of history on the lovely Playhouse Lawn and be captivated by the fantastic historic buildings. <\/p>

The path through the reserve is part of the lovely Floda-N\u00e4\u00e4s lake promenade, which leads around Lake Lilla S\u00e4vel\u00e5ngen, a wonderful walk of approximately 8 kilometers. The easiest starting point is at N\u00e4\u00e4s or at Floda station. Opportunities to eat, swim, play, and have refreshments are available both in Floda and at N\u00e4\u00e4s, or along the way if you wish to arrange your own picnic. <\/p>

N\u00e4\u00e4s is located along the beautiful Gotaleden Trail<\/strong><\/a>, which was inaugurated in 2019 and runs between Kungsportsplatsen in Gothenburg and Lilla Torget in Alings\u00e5s. The route is just over 70 km and divided into nine stages. The hike offers a varied experience through forests, mountains, nature reserves, and cultural areas. Along the trail, you will also find cozy caf\u00e9s, exciting restaurants, and some overnight accommodation options. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The trail was created through the initiative of Hans Svensson, who made the trail an enjoyable experience walk. The trail has been financed by the EU program Leader G\u00f6teborgs Insj\u00f6rike. Other participants in the project are the municipalities of Gothenburg, Partille, Lerum, and Alings\u00e5s, as well as Turistr\u00e5det V\u00e4stsverige<\/a> and V\u00e4stkuststiftelsen<\/a>. <\/p>

The trail is bidirectional, and you can easily reach the different stages from commuter train stations along the route. Gotaleden is an enjoyable hiking trail where you can have refreshments, eat, and stay comfortably in several places, as well as experience attractions. The trail passes through some smaller towns but mainly goes through forest and nature. Along the trails, there are simple campsites and shelters. <\/p>

Stage 6 between Floda and Tollered<\/strong><\/a> passes through, among other places, the N\u00e4\u00e4s Ekhagar nature reserve and across the N\u00e4\u00e4s area, passes the beautiful historic buildings at N\u00e4\u00e4s, and winds along the lake past N\u00e4\u00e4s Beach and large mysterious old hollow oaks. If you hike the entire Gotaleden, it may be convenient to stay overnight at N\u00e4\u00e4s Castle if you divide your hike into three days or if you simply want to add another dimension to your hike. <\/p>
